ASTS is committed to providing research in the field of transplant of an Advanced Transplant Provider (ATP) in order to support the need to retain highly motivated, specialty trained transplant ATPs. This grant will allow ATPs to contribute with innovative research in the field of transplantation and will support collaboration among members of the transplant community with ATP research and encourage ATP membership within ASTS.

Amount: $3,500 paid in one installment to the Awardee’s institution; $1,500 honoria to attend the awards ceremony at the American Transplant Congress. 

Funds Support: Stipend/salary support and must specify direct and indirect costs, including supplies, equipment, computer costs, consultative fees, and other expenses.

Applicant Eligibility

• ASTS Associate Member
• Applicant must reside in North America.
• Awardee may not concurrently receive any other financial support for proposed research from NIH, ASTS, AST, ACS, SUS or other society granting similar support.

Submission Requirements          

• A brief synopsis of your research (150 words maximum)
• Narrative: 1 page maximum plus 1 page of graphics permitted. State the reason for applying for the grant, specific objectives for the duration of the grant, and future plans and goals
• Budget: 1 page maximum
• Autobiography: 1 page maximum explaining your educational background, choice of career and interest in transplantation and research
• Department Chair Nomination letter confirming commitment from institution to support research
• CV

Other Requirements     

• A report to the ASTS National Office must be submitted at the conclusion of the grant.
